Gudrun Sanaker Lohne is the Destination Manager at Norway’s biggest ski resort Trysil. Gudrun was also born in the area and has a deep connection to outdoor activities, not only personally, but also professionally after working in the travel industry for almost two decades.
— During summertime, Trysil becomes a cycling destination, and there are flow tracks in the woods and some more adventurous down the slopes. In addition, there is a wide range of fantastic summer activities to choose from, like rafting, climbing, golf and mini-golf to mention some, Gudrun says.
My favourite thing that makes me proud of Trysil and Innlandet:
— Trysil is an international destination both with regards to the guests and the people working here and an ideal for families travelling with children. Gentle mountains, beautiful surroundings, nice atmosphere and people who care for your best and to make sure you will enjoy your holiday to the fullest. Good snow conditions and our groomers are reputed for their skills, she says and adds:
— All my colleagues here at SkiStar Trysil and Trysil in general always do their utmost for every guest for them to get a memorable mountain holiday experience. A relaxed atmosphere and everyone devoting their time and attention to the guests.
My favourite weekend routine:
A good breakfast at home then skiing with my family. We enjoy powder snow or perfecting the carve at Skihytta. Plenty of options for a nice lunch, then some more time on the slopes before skiing into our house. In the afternoon I enjoy a cross-country trip with my dog, and perhaps after-ski with friends, dinner and a good movie. Sundays, even more skiing, preferably three generations. A perfect weekend!
Marielles in Høgegga is great for rounding up the early-skiing on a Saturday.
My favourite excursion:
Meet with friends at 9 am, skiing until lunch, then ski across the mountain on the way back, ending the day with spa time, outdoor jacuzzi and some sparkling wine, then enjoy dinner and go home by the ski-shuttle bus.
My favourite place for dining out:
Depends on what I feel like, either it being oriental at Brasserie T, seashell platter at Taste or traditional Northern food at Pilgrimen. There are many more to choose from!
My favourite hotel for a staycation:
Radisson Blu Mountain Resort Trysil for adults. When we go the whole family, we choose Radisson Blu Resort Trysil.
My favourite route for a run or walk:
Plenty of options, but my favourite is during winter, then we rather go cross-country skiing than running. Favorite; Skurufjellsrunden in Fageråsen. May even be enjoyed running during summertime.
My favourite place for fashion:
Marlenes Lykke downtown Trysil city centre and Sport Lodgen situated at Radisson Blu Resort.
