IKEA’s gaming collection is a step in the right direction for mature gaming furnishing
The anticipated collection, put together with the help of Republic of Gamers, is meant to be ”furniture that puts gaming first”.

In a world with colour palettes of black and neon, gamers with an eye for interior design will now the struggle of blending in consoles, screens, desks, or chairs with the style of their home. As mentioned before, it can be hard to go for a sophisticated design choice without having to cut back on your gaming experience.

The new gaming range developed by IKEA in collaboration with Republic of Gamers (ASUS ROG), does make mainstream and affordable gaming furniture a little less traditional. The gaming range includes more than 30 products, from general pieces like gaming desks and chairs, drawer and storage units, to the more well-qualified mouse bungee and ring light options.

— We believe there’s a lot to be done to democratise the gaming experience, says Ewa Rychert, Global Business Leader of Workspace, IKEA of Sweden, and adds:

— Now we take the first step on our gaming journey, and we do it by presenting affordable, high-performing gaming products and complete solutions that we hope reflect people’s personality and taste.

It should be said that, for the most part, the collections still possesses that characteristic gaming look. But it is nonetheless a step in the right direction for gamers that have moved out of their childhood room. Even a small minority out of the roughly 3 billion gamers out there will look for style as well as function.
