Bergans launches its most technical collection ever for high-output outdoor action
For its brand new top-level product line, the Norwegian outdoor brand has used ultra-lightweight materials for extra breathability and comfort. The products are built for experienced outdoor consumers who seek maximum performance in the fewest kilograms possible.
— They are super lightweight, breathable, and packable which fills in the gap between hiking and running gear. I love the fact that I can push on and do the mountainsides quite rapidly and enjoy the nature when I reach the peak, without having to make a U-turn to go down again before I get cold, says former cross-country skier and Bergans ambassador, Astrid Uhrenholdt Jacobsen, who’s been testing the products for six months.
Included in the collection is women’s jacket Y LightLine Pure Windbreaker, made with recycled fibres and a PFAS-free treatment to make it water repellent. Designed for rapid hikes and high-output outdoor activities in windy conditions, the idea was to combine performance and agility into the smallest volume and lowest weight possible. The result is a weight of only 97 grams and a size similar to a mid-sized smartphone when the jacket is compressed in its own chest pocket.
The women’s tights Y LightLine Progressive is a breathable, lightweight, technically advanced product specially developed to perform and protect during high-output outdoor activities. It also uses more sustainable materials, including bluesign approved fabrics and trimmings, PFAS-free treatment, and a significant proportion of recycled fibres. Different panels are strategically placed on the garment to facilitate effort and increase comfort.
Y LightLine Air 3L Shell Jacket is an ultra-lightweight and highly breathable 3-layer men’s shell jacket, also designed for rapid hikes and high-output outdoor activities. It’s fitted with a technology called Bega Membrane Breathe PRO (a hydrophilic type of membrane combined with lightweight fabric) in combination with a 100% recycled Polyamide face fabric to offer performance when it comes to both wind and water resistance, as well as breathability.
